Since 1997, Pure & Sinful have been entertaining Richmond, Virginia audiences with their mix of Roadhouse Rhythm & Blues and classic Rock ‘n Roll. The band has been featured at venues that specialize in roots music: Rock Falls Tavern, Medley’s, Boulevard Deli and J. M. Randalls (Williamsburg, Va.), to name a few. In 2000, Pure & Sinful were finalists in the James River Blues Society’s Best Unsigned Band competition in Lynchburg, Va. In 2005, they were finalists in a similar event held by the River City Blues Society in Richmond. The band has played shows with Blues legends Carey Bell and Anson Funderburgh and the Rockets featuring Sam Meyers. They have shared the stage with local favorites Li’l Ronnie, Gary Gerloff and Janet Martin. The band has twice been named favorite band by readers of the Richmond Music Journal. In 2001, Pure & Sinful released their self-titled CD featuring eight original songs. Pure & Sinful is currently recording shows for an upcoming “Live” CD. Pure & Sinful is: James Offie (guitar, vocals), Ted Atkinson (bass, vocals) Mike Dennis (drums, vocals,) and Gary Fralin (keyboards, accordion).
